For Spotify's premium user, Spotify allows you to easily connect Spotify to Amazon Alexa app so that you can play the Spotify songs on Amazon Echo speakers using Alexa voice commands.
In case you are not yet familiar with the process to stream Spotify to Amazon Echo, we are listing the whole steps here to show you how to set up Spotify on Alexa easily and quickly. To connect your Echo device to Spotify: Download the Amazon Alexa app. As stated before, go to Menu – Settings and Music and Podcasts. Tap on Link New Service, then choose Spotify. Tap on Enable to Use. Link your account to your Alexa account. From Default Services, set Spotify as your default music service. FAQs on Connecting Alexa to Spotify. Part 1. Spotify Premium: Play Spotify on Amazon Alexa
If you have subscribed to Spotify premium plan, to set up Spotify on Amazon Echo, you need to connect your Spotify account to Amazon Alexa. https://pcrtvm.weebly.com/blog/spotify-playing-with-no-sound-mac. You can do this by either asking Alexa to play something from Spotify, which will take you through the steps, or:
Step 1. Open the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone or mobile device. Tap the Menu button in the top-left corner. Under the list of Alexa Devices, you'll see Account. In the Account list, tap on Music & Media.
Step 2. Now tap on Spotify. You can either link your existing Spotify account or sign up for one. Tap the link highlighted in blue, where it says link account on Spotify.com.
Step 3. Log into Spotify by entering your username and password, or tap Log in with Facebook if you have an account created through Facebook.
Step 4. Tap OKAY and your Spotify will be connected to Amazon Alexa.
Step 5. Now you can start playing any Spotify music on Amazon Echo using Alexa.
Whenever you want to listen to a song or a playlist from Spotify on Amazon Echo, you can simply tell Alexa something like, 'Play Ariane Grande on Spotify' and it will shuffle through various songs by Ariane Grande. Here are some specific Spotify commands you can give Alexa to play the songs:
'Play [song name] by [artist]'.
'Pause' pauses the currently playing track.
'Play [Discover Weekly] playlist'.
'Volume up/down' turns volume up or down.
'Stop' stops the currently playing track.

As mentioned above, only premium users are able to play Spotify music on Amazon Echo. But Spotify free users still get chance to stream Spotify on Echo without upgrading to premium membership. Step 1Drag Spotify files to TunesKit

Whether playing albums, songs, playlists, or genres, you can control playback with the following Echo Spotify commands.
1a. Echo, mute. Sets speaker volume to zero, but playback progress continues.
1b. Echo unmute. Sets speaker volume back to what it was prior to the last mute command issued.

Further, do you have a favorite song by a specific artist? Then ask Echo to play that song from Spotify as in the following examples. The requests below make Echo play the song Fly Like an Eagle, from Spotify, by the Steve Miller Band.
Caution
You may leave out the artist name if no other song title, artist name, or playlist has the same name. However, you must add the artist qualifier if there are more than one items in Spotify with the same name. Otherwise, Echo may play the wrong song for you. In the Fly Like an Eagle case though, she does play the Steve Miller version. That’s true, even though Spotify has versions from other artists such as Seal.

Further, you can request a certain album by a certain artist from Spotify, shown in the examples next. The album then plays in the correct order. In other words, it plays from start to end, without any inter-song gaps. We like this when playing albums that have one long recording, divided into tracks. Why? Because the tracks allow easier navigation on some live and studio albums like Pink Floyd’s The Wall album.

Spotify desktop app won't opener. Now the name of the artist you want may also be a song title. E.g. The group name Middle of the Road for example, is also the title of a song by the Pretenders.
